Khoa Nguyen represents clients in high-stakes cases involving complex commercial disputes, government investigations, and white-collar criminal prosecutions.

While in law school, Mr. Nguyen served as the senior submissions editor for the Southern California Law Review, was  a legal writing fellow, and worked as a teacher’s assistant and research assistant for Professor Daniel Klerman. He also externed for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Central District of California.

Experience

Representing PacifiCorp against numerous lawsuits in multiple jurisdictions across Oregon and California arising out of the 2020 Labor Day Fires. The fires burned over 500,000 acres across at least five counties in Oregon and California and allegedly destroyed over 2,000 structures. In the latest damages-only trial in which PacifiCorp faced a nine-figure damages exposure, persuaded a jury to award just a fraction of what the plaintiffs sought.

Obtained a dismissal with prejudice of all claims for Ecobat, the global leader in battery recycling, in tort litigation alleging over $80 million in damages arising from the company’s operation of a facility in Southern California.

Representing a video game publisher and its high level executives in a high-profile billion-dollar FTC investigation in Washington, D.C. and North Carolina.

Representing a pro bono client seeking prosecutorial discretion for an asylum petition.
