Bram Alden focuses on complex commercial litigation, including appeals, as well as white collar criminal defense. Mr. Alden joined the firm from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, where he served as Chief of the Criminal Appeals Section.

Before returning to private practice, Mr. Alden was an Assistant United States Attorney for eight and a half years. As the criminal appellate chief, he handled and oversaw the most complex criminal appeals, advised hundreds of trial attorneys, and taught legal writing. During his tenure in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he also tried and won six cases, never losing a single count of conviction at trial; argued over 30 cases before the U.S Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and received one of the Department of Justice’s highest awards for prosecutors for devising responses to novel legal issues arising from the pandemic and guiding federal prosecutors nationwide.

Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Alden was a litigation associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson, where his practice was focused on complex civil litigation. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. John B. Owens of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was Order of the Coif and Articles Editor for the UCLA Law Review. He earned his B.A. from Columbia University and M.S. from Pace University while teaching fifth grade as part of the Teach for America program in New York City.
